"Try to leave a light on when I'm gone..."
The past 3 days have been absolutely terrible. They just keep dragging on and on... ugh. I'm gonna keep this short and to the point:

At sometime between 10-11AM on Monday, Grandmom fell asleep and shortly passed away right after. She had been in the hospital since Friday evening with a bowel obstruction, and by Monday morning, her heart just couldn't take all of the beatdowns it's had over the past 3 months & she stopped breathing. :(

When Mom, Cathy and I visited her on Saturday afternoon, she was hooked up to all types of tubes, etc.; and I had a feeling that this time felt different. She'd been in the hospital 4 times since July, with half of those visits being in just the past 3 weeks; I don't know about the rest of my family, but I remember thinking, "Well, this time could be when she decides to go." And my intuition was correct once again... hmm. Not such a great feeling to be right about *that* type of a prediction.

Because of the funeral and preparations for it, I took off school yesterday and today, and will be out until after Monday's events. And naturally, that means that I'm starting off Homecoming Week with a funeral. Ugh... all I can say is "ugh." *rolls eyes*

Anyway, I'm going to post the obit on here since I don't want to type much more in here:

I found the game's details all by myself! :D

I am sooooooooo not hyperlinking that. And my browser automatically does it anyway. So there.

Anywho, today was a good day. Then I decided to WALK ALL THE WAY HOME. Following a path with tons of kids on it. Turned out to be the wrong neighboorhood, just my luck. And so I had to walk ALL THE WAY BACK and walk up that HUGE hill. (In case anyone doesn't know, Maryland is pretty much a vast, complicated series of hills and valleys. We're practically all living on the estranged, demented stepsister to the Appalachian Trail. :) The funny bit is that even though my school's called Seneca Valley, it's on a hill. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.) Gotta love mild asthma. But I just got home now, am checking my e-mail, and need a nap. G'night... er... afternoon! :)

Love, Lizzie (ps: I'll put in the answers for the meme tomorrow. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz....)

This dress.

Gouuuuuuuuurgeous. :D And only $29.95.

Today was partially noteworthy I suppose. ;) It started off with Dad driving me to school and seeing all this litter on the road at the intersection of Middlebrook and Great Seneca. I know now that they were just trash bags but from far away it looks like the road was covered in sanitary napkins. :P Anyway, went through the 1st half of the day, had lunch with my girls (yay, the dress-shopping on Saturday is official!), went to Chem, presented my Powerpoint in Health (more on that at a later date, maybe... we'll see.), and went to English.

I got my school picture then, and I love it! I'm so happy that turned out decent. Anyway, in English we're all discussing the importance of innocence to Holden for The Catcher in the Rye, and all of a sudden Caitlin (who sits at the opposite side of the room) yells out "Mr. Burrall, did you know your FLY is DOWN?!?!!?!?" Cue Burrall turning five shades of fushcia and laughter ensuing. He zipped it while facing the other way, slammed his Catcher on the floor, and said "Ok... next time I put my leg on the desk I'll check." WLMAO. Well, I thought it was entertaining. ;)

Off to Band! Love, Lizzie

From Rah, who got it from someone else (I'm guessing Rhi's involved somehow... lol)

The football game was tres fun. Most of it you had to be there for, because it was my first SV football game I've performed in, but we had sooooooooooo much fun. If I find some more pics of the game of the festival from this morning, I'll put them in a cut.

Imma do my own thing, except for when it comes to memes.
hehehe.

Open your playlist, pick songs that start with each letter of your username, but the songs have to mean something to you. Don't just pick a song because it starts with a letter in your username. Post the list to your journal, if you want you can explain why the songs are important to you, but it's not required. Tag five people to do it.

I Turn To You, Melanie C: Not the one by Xtina. ;) The acoustic version of the song is the best. I love this song because it reminds you of who your friends are, and why you love them so much. It's dedicated to you all!

Don't Speak, No Doubt: This brings me back to the days where I was 5, a ballet freak, and had three must-see music videos each Monday before class. I don't know why I did it... but "Don't Speak" was one of them. I love this song. Just love it.

O My God, The Police: I love the version of this song live on the "Sychronicity" concert tape that my mom had. It takes the biscuit, to quote the song.

La Vie Boheme, RENT (OBC, OMC; don't care which, they're both goooood): Who with an "L" in their sn could NOT put this on here? Defines the general existence of being a bohemian, of which I aspire to.

Far Away, Nickelback: All of their vids are so touching, especially "Savin' Me," but since I don't have an "s" in my sn, "Far Away" does the trick as well. It reminds me of when a soldier comes back from war; they could or could not come back to their loves.

Run, Collective Soul: From the "Dosage" album. Y'all know this song: "Have I got a long way/ to run... (repeat times 1 billion)" :D

Everybody's Fool, Evanescence: Song that dictates perfectly on the celeb-worshiping pop culture of today. And Amy Lee is a angel from heaven.

Aqueous Transmission, Incubus: I float rivers often as well, Brandon. ;) Had to pay some props to Incubus on this, and the crickets at the end put me at total balance. I could float in the air, instead.

Kick It Out, Heart: Such a fun song! Blare it out at full max for a good feeling.

91... uhh, since I don't have one under that, I'll find a song from 1991... "Crazy" by Seal: close enough. iTunes says 1990 but I honestly don't give a shizz. LOVE this song. Is one of the best songs on the effing planet.

Love, Lizzie (and I'm not gonna tag anyone. Take at your own risk!)

This could be the first day of my (school) life...
So. First day of sophomore year at Seneca Valley High School. One phrase: fast-passing. Seriously, where did the day go?

Anywho, the "important stuff:"

I went straight to my homeroom, forgetting that they were giving out free donuts to the first 500 students. *d'oh!* But I got there, and sat there, and sat there... until we got our agenda books (that are no longer that ugly color of yellow that they called "gold," yay) and such, and watched Ms. Maxey blab about the obvious on the announcements. Then, 1st period: NSL Gov't. Emma and Regina (yes, Cho) are in that one. Mr. Changuris invited us to his class then what the coming weeks would be like for his due to his "major, not minor" back surgery. Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. 2nd: Symphonic Band with good old (well, he's actually quite young) Singleton. Pretty much 2/3 of the Marching Band are in there, as well as some new folk and some people such as Angela and Will from last year's Concert Band. Good times. 3rd: Precalc w/ Analysis. Ugh. I can feel my bones crushing already. I would say this is the last math I would have to take, but I might want to take AP Calc to get some college credits in my resume. I want a scholarship, so I'm sacrificing stress-free life... right? ;) 4th: My one of only two women as my teachers. It's insane. But the class seems like fun, considering I'm not the only one in the class of '09 in that one. Yay!

Lunch: Ah... the freedom of being as upperclassmen and finally being allowed to enjoy the privelge of Open Lunch. SV is one of only three HS's out of the 16 in the county that have open lunch. Well, our cafeteria is tiny. And now we only have one lunch preiod instead of 2. Kudos to freshman who find a table. :) Olivia, Sarah, Emma, Emily, and I went out and about inside looking for each other first (lol), then visiting various people and teachers from last year. And tomorrow we may trek it to DQ or Starbucks! Starbucks could be near impossible to get to and back, though. So, I bet we'll do DQ. ;)

5th: Chemisty with almost everyone from Bio last year! I don't have the same lab group, or Olivia and Serena in my class :(, but it'll be a good after-lunch treat. If I get out of there ALIVE. :D 6th: Mr. Rubenstein's wife gave birth on Friday, so he's on leave while a sub teaches us Health. Ugh. And it's in the coldest room of the school. Ugh ugh. Somehow I'll find something optimistic about it. 7th: My first and only Cambridge English class. And it's in.... a portable. Joy. Apparently the old Cam. 10 teacher left, so Mr. Burrall had to fill in for him. He was happy that he would have the majority of his Cam. 9 kids again, but he missed being in a portable because this year they made him a "roaming" teacher. So, he requested P1, and he got it. Just when I thought it was going to be a perfect year... kidding! Mr. Burrall will probably be the most entertaining teacher to watch, while Singleton will be funny to listen to. I think I'll look forward to this portable unlike last year in Spanish.

And that's my day. I'm reeeeeeeally tired and irritable. :)

Might as well start the party now! I'm going to take advantage that my b-day could technically be celebrated right now in Austrailia, so I'm gonna cheat and say Yay I'm fifteen! hehe

But I'll actually turn fifteen at 11:35 am Atlantic Coast Time tomorrow, during my Algebra exam. Quite the downer. But I'll live. :D

I can't wait till tomorrow and Friday for the Collective Soul concert!

Today I had off because it's SV'd day at D.A.R. Constitution Hall. Why does everyone go there? There's never anywhere to park. Anyway, I got to sleep in, and it was lovely. I sent Olivia a lesson on pop culture via e-mail, and such. Now Cathy's kicking me off the comp literally, oww, so I'll get off now. Sorry for the brief entry, might add more at a later date.
